Espace Holds Technics

Espace holds comply with EN 12572-3 European standard.
They benefit from the latest technological advances in terms of safety and material resistance.

Each hold is identified on the back by a traceability number. The user takes full responsibility for the fixation and use of Espace climbing holds. They must ensure that the climbing holds are used for the purpose for which they were designed. Climbing holds must be mounted by qualified staff using appropriate equipment on clean, dry wood or concrete bases.

Holds and mounting brackets are prone to expansion. In order to prevent the holds from rotation, periodic checks are recommended. Any climbing holds that are cracked or have any other anomaly should be disposed of immediately. Acid is not recommended for cleaning. Use a high-pressure cleaner instead.

Our materials

PE: For small to medium-sized holds, we use polyester. Resistant and very good value for money, these holds are long-lasting and have a rock-like feel.

PE REDUCER: Used for large holds, Polyester Reducer offers the same advantages as PE. They are hollowed out to make them lighter.

PU: Polyurethane is a plastic which advantages include lightness for easier handling and flexibility to ensure cohesion with the base.

PU REDUCER: For even greater lightness, large holds are hollowed out while retaining the same characteristics as PU.

FIBREGLASS - GRP: Used for macro-holds, the fiberglass composite - GRP - provides lighter holds that are highly resistant to bending stress. Micro-holds can also be screwed in to broaden gripping capacities.

RESIN-COATED WOOD: Made from 18mm-thick resin-sandblasted birch plywood, Espace wood volumes are equipped with a positive grain for excellent friction with hands and feet. Thanks to a grid of 10mm-diameter T-nut inserts, you can enhance gripping by screwing holds onto the volumes. Micro-holds can also be screwed in directly using 4mm VBA screws. Some volumes can be assembled together.

DUAL TEXTURE: Some volumes and holds feature a Dual Texture surface: they are composed of smooth and rough surfaces to make climbing more complex.

ECO-RECYCLED: Two technologies incorporating up to 30% recycled materials have been developed: polyester and thermo-plastic, which can be recycled up to 10 times without any loss of properties. Environmental impact is thus cut by 50%.

BIO-SOURCED: Bio-sourced holds offer the same durability and feel as polyester holds. The use of recycled plastic bottles and natural hemp fiber reduces the environmental impact.

SAFETY SYSTEM: Should a hold accidentally break, the broken pieces remain attached to the hold thanks to the Safety System. This metal frame prevents any debris from falling on users. This system is present on all models from size M upwards.

INSERT SYSTEM: Our holds are equipped with the Insert System, making them compatible with flat-head (CHC) or countersunk (FHC) screws. Our inserts also provide better distribution of forces on the base of the holds, which improves their resistance.

Technics

CHC SCREWS: Our inserts are compatible with 10mm diameter flathead screws thanks to the Insert System, which provides better distribution of forces over a wide area.

FHC SCREWS: The Insert System is also compatible with 10mm-diameter countersunk screws.

TORX SCREWS: 5mm-diameter Torx wood screws are used to prevent accidental rotation of the holds, or to secure them to the wall without using CHC or FHC screws. They are also used to secure wooden volumes.
